Core Practice stores communication records across different areas of the system depending on the type of communication and how it was generated. This means that there is no single location where all SMS messages, emails, and notifications are stored.

Understanding Communication Logs
Patient Logs
Patient Logs are primarily used to track direct patient-related communications and activity linked to an individual patient profile.
Common records found in Patient Logs include:
- Manually sent patient emails
- Some SMS communications
- Nores and patient interactions
- Certain correspondence linked directly to the patient file
Audit Logs
Audit Logs record system activity and changes made throughout Core Practice. These logs are commonly used to track automated communications, updates, and system-generated actions.
Depending on the are of the system, Audit Logs may include:
- Appointment reminder emails
- Automated SMS reminders
- Confirmation notifications
- Changes made to appointments
- Treatment plan emails
- Invoice modifications
- Letter activity
- User actions, timestamps, and system updates

Common Examples
Appointment Reminder Email Not Found in Patient Logs
A Practice may look for an appointment reminder email when the Patient Logs and not find it recorded in there.
This is because appointment reminders are system-generated communications and are typically recorded in the Appointment Audit Logs instead.
Treatment Plan Email history
If a treatment plan has been emailed to a patient, the communication history may be available within the treatment Plan Audit Logs rather than Patient Logs.
