Steps
- Go to the system tray and right-click on the Core Practice Bridge Diagnostic icon.
If it isn't there, you will need to start the Core Practice Bridge Diagnostic.
- Click on Payment Gateway Service from the menu.
Note that it has an error message (in red, above). You may see a different error message, but this guide will probably fix your error too.
- Click on Restart.
This will stop the service entirely and restart it. If you see an error which says "Unknown error while restarting the service", you may not have administrator permissions on your computer. Click OK on the error and go to step 5.
- Click OK.
- Click on Reconnect.
- Click OK.
The Client Bridge should now be "Connected to Core Practice" (seen below, in green). If it is not connected, try to reconnect a few times.
- Click Re-scan to find your terminal. This may take a few seconds.
Your terminal should now be in "Terminals" (seen below). If it is not, try to re-scan a few times. If the terminal does not show up in "Terminals", you should restart HICAPS Connect.
- Close the Payment Gateway Service window.
You should be able to make claims through Core Practice now.

Goes straight to: "Waiting for terminal.
If Terminal does not respond in 5 seconds please reconnect client bridge service before trying again!"
Does not even seem to attempt to connect with HICAPs. Tried restarting computer, Core Practice Client Bridge, reconnecting, the terminal shows up and runs fine through the HICAPs app. Seems like a Core Practice error where it won't even send the information across, goes straight to the error message.
