Overview
The Sterilisations area enables users at your practice to document and track device sterilisations in your Core Practice environment to help ensure compliance with infection control standards. This article explains the steps needed to document Sterilisation Tracking.
Documenting the Sterilisation Cycle
1. | Click on Location and select Sterilisations to open the Location Administration Sterilisations screen. | |

2. | Click on on Create Sterilisation to open Cycle Details window to begin the Cycle tracking process. | |

3. | Complete the relevant Steriliser fields, including Steriliser (e.g., MELAG Vacuklav 44-b), Type (e.g., Instrument Cycle), Cycle No (generated by the Steriliser), and Start Time of the Cycle. (Note: *Asterisked items are required fields.) | |

4. | Click Save Changes to open the Load Cycle window. | |

The Load Cycle window shows what stage the Sterilisation cycle process is in. | ||
5. | Load the cycle from the right-side control panel by clicking on correct Package(s) (e.g., Exam Pack) and/or Item(s). | |

Each time you select a package (or an item) it becomes part of the current cycle. | ||

6. | After selecting your packages and/or items, click on Complete Load to open the Load Cycle popup window to confirm your "operator" credentials. | |

7. | Verify the Username is correct. Depending on your settings, you may be prompted for a password or PIN. | |

If you change the Username, the following screen will appear. | ||

8. | Click on Complete Load, which will open the Sterilisation tracking window, displaying your current cycles. | |

9. | To edit or delete the cycle, click on the gear icon. | |

You can also edit the cycle by clicking on the cycle number. | ||
10. | When the cycle is complete, go into the edit cycle area and indicate what has passed or failed. You can also indicate partial "fails" or "passes" too. | |

11. | After updating PASS QTY, click on appropriate Approve Cycle button. | |

12. | Update Approve Pass Cycle fields, then click on Complete Approve. | |

13. | Click on Generate Barcode to print the cycle's barcode label. | |

14. | Complete Barcode fields, then click on Print Label to display and print. | |
