Dental practice currently uses paper or spreadsheets to keep a log of all lab orders to follow-up with the lab, ensure all appointments that require lab case will have lab packages delivered by courier before appointments, otherwise patient will have their appointment rescheduled.
The objective of Core Practice Lab Module is to remove the need for using paper base to keep logs of lab orders. To facilitate communication and collaboration between dentist, receptionist, practice manager and laboratory to handle the lab work.
After setting up the lab permissions, lab contact, lab service and product, below are the following steps to create a Lab order.
The clinic workflow
- From the treatment plan tab, click Create Lab Order.
- Fill in all the relevant details in the form, then Create Order Case.
Location: The practice address of the clinic.
Provider: The name of the dentist or clinician.
Appointment: The current appointment.
Planned Appointment: A future appointment to which the dentist will perform the lab work. (optional)
Lab Service: Choose if the treatment is for Denture, Crown or Bridge.
Lab Sheet: A paper form that the dentist will need to fill in regarding the lab work and attach it upon creating the lab order.
Lab: The name of the lab to which the dentist will order the lab work.
Due date: The date before the planned appointment to make sure the lab work arrives beforehand.
Shade: The color of the tooth.
Instructions: A template that dentists can design their own form to replicate what the lab required.
Items: A product to order.
