Overview
Medicare's Child Dental Benefits Schemes (CDBS) allow children who meet specific criteria to claim from the government for subsidised dental treatment from the age of 2 to 17 years old. Medicare uses a variation of the Australian Dental Association (ADA) codes for its claiming purposes. They prefix every ADA code with 88. For example, CDBS item 88011 corresponds to ADA item 011.
Core Practice comes with a list of pre-set CDBS items, but if you ever need to add a new one, below shows how you can set the item for Medicare Claim.
Steps
1. From the Cog button, click on Items.
2. Choose the Medicare Child Benefits Scheme from one of the catalogues.
3. Medicare Child Benefits Scheme consists of different categories and each category has a sub-category in which the items are stored. In this case, we will choose Diagnostic Service - Examination category as an example to set item 88011 to Medicare. Once done, Save Changes.
4. Repeat this step to all Medicare Child Benefits Scheme items (if applicable).
