This article will guide you through how to use the Family feature in Core Practice based on your family role. It will also highlight the key benefits this feature offers to patients, such as simplified communication, shared account management, and easier appointment coordination within a family group.

Benefits of Family Account
The Family Account feature is helpful for patients—especially minors—who don’t have their own way to receive messages, reminders, or invoices. How communication is sent depends on the family role assigned.
Family Roles:

Parent and Spouse – They get their own appointment reminders, invoices in their name, and marketing messages sent directly to them.

Child and Dependant – These are usually minors. Their reminders, invoices, and marketing messages are sent to the organiser of the family account.
Note:
If a Child or Dependant has their own mobile number and wants to receive reminders and invoices directly, don’t link them to a family account. Messages will always go to the organiser if they are linked.
How to add a family member
- Go to the patient's profile and click on Family.
- Click on the blue plus and then click Add family member.
- Search for the Member (a), apply their Family Role (b) and then click Add Family Member.
How to remove a family member
- Go to the patient's profile and click on Family.
- Hover your mouse over the patient you want to remove, then click the Cog Icon.
- Click the Remove button to remove the profile from the family account.
