Set up cross-domain tracking
Cross-domain tracking allows Google Analytics to follow a visitor when they move from your practice website to Core Practice Online Booking.
1. Open your Google tag
- Go to Google Tag Manager: https://tagmanager.google.com/
- Select your tag from the Google Tags menu.
- Select the Google tag connected to your GA4 account.
- Under Settings, click Configure your domains.
2. Add the Core Practice domain
Under Include domains that match the following conditions, enter the following:
| Setting | Value |
| Match type | Contains |
| Domain | corepractice.is |
Click Save once complete.
Note: Enter only corepractice.is. You do not need to include https://, www or a trailing slash.
Check that your tracking is working
After completing the setup, allow some time for Google Analytics to begin receiving the new events.
To check the setup:
- Open your practice website.
- Start an Online Booking.
- Continue through the booking journey.
- In GA4, go to Reports → Realtime.
- Check whether the relevant booking events appear.
The all_appointment event should appear when an Online Booking is successfully completed.
Note: Events created in GA4 only track activity from the time they are created. Previous bookings will not be added to these events.
