Overview
The Take Photo feature allows you to use your device's camera to capture an image or document and upload it directly to a patient's Attachments tab. This can be useful when you need to quickly attach a document, such as a signed form, without saving it to your computer first.
Note: Take Photo uses your device's camera to capture an image. It is not a document scanner integration.
Before you begin
To use Take Photo, your device must have an available camera, and your browser must have permission to access it.
When your browser requests permission to access the camera, select "Allow."
If you have previously blocked camera access for Core Practice, you may need to update your browser's site or camera permissions before continuing.
Take and upload a photo
- Open the patient profile.
- Go to the Attachments tab.
- Click Upload Files.
- Select Take Photo.
Note: If prompted by your browser, select Allow to give Core Practice access to your device's camera.
- Position the document or item you want to capture within the camera view.
- Take the photo.
- Review the captured image and continue with the attachment upload.
- Enter the attachment details:
- Attachment Name
- Folder
- Description (optional)
- Click Upload Attachment.
The captured image will be added to the patient's attachments.
Things to know
- Take Photo uses your device's camera and does not connect directly to a document scanner.
- You can use it to quickly capture documents or other images and attach them to a patient record.
- The quality of the captured image depends on the camera available on your device. Before uploading, make sure important information in the image or document is clear and readable.
- You can still upload an existing file from your computer using the standard Upload Files option.
Troubleshooting Take Photo
If Take Photo is unavailable or you cannot access the camera:
- Check that your device has an available camera.
- Make sure your browser has permission to access the camera.
- Check that your browser's security or site settings are not blocking camera access.
- If you have just enabled camera permissions, refresh Core Practice and try again.
