Here are the steps on how to setup Core Practice Media Bridge:
Create an API Key
Install Core Practice Media Bridge
Configure Twain Integration
Create an API Key
- Go to client's Core Practice website, log in as an admin user, click on the cog button and select Settings and click on API Keys under integrations.
- Click on Create API Key to generate a new API key for the media bridge.
- Enter Name for the API key (e.g. ACME Surgery Media Bridge), the Key (e.g. SUR-ACME-MBR) and select Client Media for the Type, and then click Save Changes.
- Save new API Key details including Name, Key and Secret into a text file to make a copy of it.
Install Core Practice Media Bridge
- Check customer's PC network type and set it to a Private network.
- First, install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 on the customer's PC (You can download the installer from Microsoft website) and then download the copy of the latest Media bridge installer via this link https://core.my/media_bridge, then start the installation.
- Change installation folder path to "C:\Core Practice\Core Practice Media Bridge\" and select Everyone at the bottom then click on Next to finish the installation.
Configure Twain Integration
- Go to Core Practice Media Bridge folder (C:\Core Practice\Core Practice Media Bridge), Make a copy of both AppSettings.config and CoreMediaBridge.exe.config files before configuring the settings.
- Open AppSettings.config file via notepad from Core Practice Media Bridge folder, edit the subdomain values for HubConnectionUrl, ApiServiceUrl and TokenServiceUrl with the subdomain of client's Core Practice URL (e.g. "https://demo.corepractice.is/" and change it to "https://test.corepractice.is/"), ApiClientId change it to the Key (e.g. SUR-ACME-MBR), and ApiClientSecret using the generated Secret of the created API key.
- Double click on the Media Bridge shortcut on the desktop to open the app, then find the little Core Practice Media Bridge tooth icon on the hidden icons on the system tray.
- Right click on Core Practice Media Bridge icon on the system tray, click on Core Practice Media Bridge to open the app.
- On the Core Practice Media Bridge app, click on the cog button and then click on Select Source. Choose the right twain driver for your device (e.g. VistaScan), highlight and copy the name at the bottom.
- Open CoreMediaBridge.exe.config file via notepad from Core Practice Media Bridge folder, remove the scripts of other devices and leave the script necessary for your device (On this example, we will configure the VistaScan). Edit/paste the copied twain driver name from the Core Practice Media Bridge app to the Source Value of the device script. Once properly configured, save the changes and close the config file.
- Right click on Core Practice Media Bridge icon on the system tray, click on Exit to close the app and then restart the app to make the changes to take effect.

On the Core Practice Media Bridge app, you will see the following options, Stop, Start and Reconnect.
- Stop: Stop local Core Practice Media Bridge Service (need administrator permission)- Start: Start local Core Practice Media Bridge Service (need administrator permission)
- Reconnect: Reconnect to Core Practice Cloud Server
- Once Media Bridge setup is complete, you can go to the client's Core Practice webpage to test it. Create a test patient and then on the patient's profile page, click on Media and then select the right bridge (For initial setup, click on Re-scan for device and then Refresh the page).
Note: Other devices/software has its own script and configuration.
